We all know that prolonged sitting is harmful to our bones because it would lead to neck and back pain. However, do you know that its harm is far more than that? Let’s how does prolonged sitting harm our body?

 

女性久坐更易得3種癌

Women have higher chance of 3 kinds of cancer

研究發現,久坐對女性的傷害遠高於男性,它容易導致女性患癌,特別是乳腺癌、卵巢癌、多發性骨髓瘤的風險上升。

Some studies revealed that prolonged sitting is more harmful to women than men. It would increase female’s risk of cancer, especially breast, ovarian cancer and multiple myeloma.

 

男性久坐會提前進入更年期

久坐不動的男性因缺乏鍛煉,會產生心理壓抑、無精打采、倦怠無力。總是「黏」在椅子上的男性腦力勞動者會比其他男性更早步入更年期。

Men who sit for a long time are lack of exercise. It would lead to depression, listless and fatigue. In this case, they would have an earlier onset of menopause than others.

 

易患老年痴呆

Higher chance of Alzheimer’s disease

久坐會引起乏力、失眠、記憶力減退,長期處於腦部供血不足,進而增大患老年痴呆症的可能。

Sitting for a long time would lead to fatigue, insomnia and poor memory. The insufficient blood supply to brain would lead to a higher chance of Alzheimer’s disease.

 

消化功能減退

易引起腸胃蠕動減慢,消化腺分泌消化液減少,出現食欲不振、腹脹、便秘等症狀。

Prolonged sitting would result in a decline of intestinal peristalsis and fewer digestive fluids that lead to poor appetite, bloating, constipation and so on.
